The new Eco Oxygen mask has been launched within the Oxygen & Aerosol Therapy product range, and utilisation of the latest manufacturing technology has enabled us to combine two non-PVC materials in the same mask.
The material forming the body of the mask is clear and rigid enough to maintain the mask's shape. A second, softer material is utilised in the manufacture of the seal, which is in contact with the patient's face.
The use of these materials has resulted in a mask with an environmental impact score of 4 milli ecopoints when compared to the equivalent PVC mask which has an environmental impact score of 15 milli ecopoints. A 73% reduction!
The new Intersurgical EcoLite™ oxygen mask range incorporates additional features based on the original Eco mask design. The chin section of the mask is now extended and two integral seals ensure that the mask fits a wider range of face shapes. The masks retraining elastic can be fitted either above or below the patient's ear depending on the patient's face shape; in the below ear position it eliminates the discomfort and longer-term trauma created by elastic to the top of the patient's ears.
